2008 CAMP TESOMAS!!!

Sunday morning and we are about to leave for Camp Tesomas!

Once there, the dining hall was really appreciated...  the hall...  not the food.  Just kidding.  The food was... well... camp food.

Smile Mr. K!  A whole week to go!!!

Our first evening troop gathering for flag ceremony.

Words of wisdom from the chief

The "Tenderfoot through First Class" instruction begins right away on Monday morning for our first year campers.  Mitchel was our main instructor and did a fantastic job.  He is a Troop Guide.

More learning under the tarps!

Hi Bob!!!

And then there is Tony!

And  "JJ"!!!

One of the tasks learned was firemaking.  Here Tyler is showing his stuff as a pro!

As does Gary!

Jake got into it too!

So did Alex!

And Diego!!!

Alex, on the left, is a long time scout from our unit that has moved to Germany.  He attends summer camp with us each year!  His long time friend Ben had a chance to make up news since last year.

The adult cooking contest was a lumberjack theme and so Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox was used by SuperTroop 540!

The serving place was the Bistro!

The judges were greeted by the staff of "lumberjacks" from the logging camp.

The judges had riddle placemats like most high feluten bistros!

The meal that was chosen to be the contest meal was a breakfast.  We chose one of our favorite dishes to serve; the Breakfast Soufflé.  It has sausage, mushrooms, onions, cheese, eggs, green peppers and hash browns topped with more cheese.  My goodness how good can it get??  All made in a Dutch Oven.

The second part of the meal, or desert so to speak, was a new form of Monkey Bread.  I can't elaborate on it here, but Mr. K can...

We even had Babe's blue hoof prints in the dirt!  Discovery Channel will now also be checking the Phillips area not only for Bigfoot, but Babe the blue ox as well.  Oh, by the way.  The adults won the camp wide cooking contest led by Mr. K

After a long day!  Is that an electronic game I see????  Tisk, tisk.

Our JASM, Mitchel.

We had our traditional Wednesday night parents visit night and pot luck dinner with the troop adults making their famous stew.  We had over a hundred people I believe!

Getting close to the end of our week.  Sad

We had other people taking pictures and when I get them I will post them on this site.
